Biofuels:
- Biodiesel is a fuel that can be used in any diesel powered vehicle. It is bio-degradable and non-toxic. It is a FANTASTIC way to reduce your carbon footprint as it only releases the carbon dioxide that the plants grown to make it absorbed while growing, therefore it's carbon equal - no negative impact.
- SPINX introduced Biodiesel to the Upstate in June 2005 and currently offers biodiesel at 44 locations, 11 of which are truck accessible.
- E-85 is an alcohol fuel mixture that typically contains a mixture of up to 85% fuel ethanol and gasoline. Use of E-85 results in reductions of greenhouse gas emissions and energy use for each gallon burned.
- E-85 should only be used in approved FlexFuel vehicles. Ethanol is a cleaning agent and dealers recommend the fuel filter be changed when you transition a FlexFuel vehicle from gas to E-85.
- SPINX has made a commitment to the community to sell E-85 at a lower price than Unleaded Gas. Currently 19SPINX locations offer E-85 which makes it the largest E-85 retailer in the Southeast.
- SPINX has more Biofuels locations than any other distributor in the Southeast.
