The Spinx Co. opened its first Charleston area convenience store on Thursday, March 14th. The state-of-the-art convenience store located at 6899 Rivers Ave in North Charleston features an automatic car wash, fresh hot food offer, Spinx Fresh on the Go and Spinx SuperMax performance fuel. The Spinx Co. executives, including company founder Stewart Spinks, celebrated the grand opening with local officials during a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on March 14th.

The Greenville businessman and founder of the Spinx Co. chain of gas stations has definitely worked hard to build his empire of more than 700 stations, but he doesn’t give all of the credit to determination and elbow grease.

A record number of participants took part in the 8th Edition of the Spinx Run Fest in downtown Greenville on Saturday. Presented by the Greenville Track Club (GTC), the three races (Marathon, Half Marathin and 5K) have far and away become the preeminent road racing event in the region during the fall season.
GREENVILLE, SC - November 27, 2012 - Nominated by The Children's Museum of the Upstate, The Spinks family was honored on National Philanthropy Day with the award for Outstanding Individual/Family for their generosity. Clemson University presented the award to Stewart and Martha Spinks and Steve and Allison Spinks at a luncheon held by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) at The Thornblade Country Club.
More than 18,000 people strapped on their skates and hit the ice last year for the inaugural run of downtown's Ice on Main, and organizers are hoping just as many or more return to Village Green this winter for the event's extended second season.
